Halloween festivities are abound in Preston Hollow, and Melshire Estates is no exception. The Melshire Estates Homeowners Association’s Halloween Block Party is this Sunday at Ridgetown Circle. Costumes are encouraged, and a plethora of Halloween-themed activities will be offered, including pumpkin bowling and an obstacle course. The celebration kicks off at 3:30 p.m., and it costs $10 t0 attend if you don’t belong to the HOA.
Bring the kids to Preston Hollow Elementary for a Trunk or Treat on Friday at 6 p.m. Community members also are invited to decorate the cars and pass out candy. Learn more information here.
Preston Hollow United Methodist Church also is in the holiday spirit and has organized a Fall Festival on Friday. The event from 6-8 p.m. includes train rides, inflatable slides, trunk-or-treating, carnival game and other activities. Â Northaven United Methodist Church‘s Trunk or Treat will be on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. Â A cupcake walk, music, bounce house and food truck all are featured.
If you’ve always wanted to participate in a flash mob, here’s your chance. Join the Dance Council of North Texas in a flash mob of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” at NorthPark Center on Saturday. If you’re in the mood to dance, but flash mobs just aren’t your style, head to SMU’s Meadows Jazz Orchestra second annual swing concert on Saturday.  At “It Don’t Mean a Thing if It Aint Got That Swing,” practice your skills during an introductory lesson at 6:30 p.m. before dancing to music of the 1930s and ’40s at 7:30 p.m. More information is available here.
