For some, though, making a difference isn’t exclusive to the holidays. It’s a part of their everyday routines, and empathy is inherent to their personalities.

In 2011, the Advocate interviewed several neighborhood seniors who dedicated their lives to volunteering, whether that be in our neighborhood or overseas.
