Dallas police doggedly search for identity thieves on the run with a French Bulldog

After two people purchased a high-priced canine companion at a pet store with a fraudulent credit card, the Dallas Police Department has asked for help tracking the suspects and their furry friend.

In early August, a man and woman applied for credit using someone else’s identity at Petland in Preston Forest Square to purchase a $6,666 French Bulldog, according to a police department news release.

Two weeks later, the man once again was caught on camera using the victim’s identity at Pep Boys in Garland.

The Dallas Police Department Financial Investigations unit is asking for help identifying the suspects. Anyone with information should contact Detective Ed Lujan at 214.670.3548 or  edmundo.lujan@dpd.ci.dallas.texas.us.

In an email to the Advocate, Detective Lujan said he’d update us “if I find the bad guy.”
