One Central Market wasn’t enough for Preston Hollow.

H-E-B announced today that a second neighborhood location is slated to open at Midway Road and Northwest Highway in fall 2017. The company purchased the former Sun Fresh Market location from RLS in September, and the 42,000-square-foot space will undergo a wall-to-wall remodel.

Central Market’s Preston-Royal location, which opened in 2012, is only 4 miles away from its latest addition, but H-E-B believes it will accommodate residents of western Preston Hollow and other nearby neighborhoods.

“I am pleased that Central Market chose to invest in Dallas,” Councilwoman Jennifer Staubach Gates said in a news release. “I know the neighborhoods in the western portion of District 13 are eager for this store to open.”

H-E-B was so determined to acquire the Midway Road location, as well as a spot in Uptown, that the company purchased six Sun Fresh Market stores total.

“We have since sold the Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road location to Lincoln Properties, and plans for the remaining three stores are still under evaluation; however, these will likely be sold or leased to other retail tenants,” Mabrie Jackson, director of public affairs at Central Market, said in the release.
