For nearly four decades, the Preston Hollow Women’s Club (PHWC) has given neighbors the opportunity to simultaneously support the community and socialize. This year’s holiday fundraiser was no exception.

The PHWC event raised more than $17,000 for Rainbow Days, a nonprofit that provides after-school programs for at-risk teens living across the metroplex.

Founded in 1982 by Cathey Brown, the organization offers support groups and life skills education classes, as well as services to those who are homeless.

Proceeds from the holiday fundraiser, held Dec. 2 at Royal Oaks Country Club, support Rainbow Days’ Family Connection program, which assists roughly 1,000 children who are homeless and may live in transitional, emergency or domestic violence shelters.

Through the program, children can participate in support groups, summer camps and arts retreats, says Tiffany Beaudine, director of development at Rainbow Days.

“It has meant so much to us,” Beaudine says. “It has been such a blessing to have their support.”
