With Christmas and Hanukkah only a week away, many of us still are scrambling to finish last-minute shopping. This past weekend, NorthPark Center was packed with people taking advantage of holiday sales and events.

If you didn’t have the time or patience to wander through the shopping center Saturday, the Advocate filmed two beloved NorthPark traditions, so you can experience them without circling the parking lot or winding through crowds.

First, we stopped by Scrooge Puppet Theatre to see the cantankerous fellow tease passersby and squirt water at children. Played by puppeteer Will Schutze, Scrooge has entertained Dallas for three decades and was featured in our magazine’s December edition.

Then we explored The Trains at NorthPark, which features a detailed replica of the US and raises money for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.
