Five things to do this weekend: listen to a reading, celebrate Earth Day and more

Preston Royal Library

State Rep. Jason Villalba is spending Saturday afternoon at the Preston Royal Library, but his visit doesn’t have anything to do with politics. Villalba is reading his children’s book “The Little Boy and the Old Woman” at 2 p.m on April 22. Learn more here.

That’s not the only event at the library this weekend, either. The annual book sale is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. this Friday and Saturday.

The CARE Student Exhibition is on display at NorthPark Center until Thursday, April 25. Created by elementary and middle school students, the art showcased at the exhibit illustrates the danger of substance abuse. Get all the details here.

In honor of Earth Week, a shredder truck will be stationed at the Jewish Community Center from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday. Bring old documents to be shredded and recycled, instead of being dumped in the landfill.
