Food news: Romano’s Macaroni Grill vacates Northwest Highway

You’ll have to make a trip to the ‘burbs if you’re craving wine and pasta from Romano’s Macaroni Grill.

The national chain shut down its Northwest Highway restaurant more than a week ago, according to CultureMap, because the rent was too high. Locations in Missouri, North Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana and California also have shuttered in the midst of several ownership changes.

In 2015, Nation’s Restaurant News reported the Italian eatery’s value fell by 95 percent in roughly seven years.
