The space that Tupinamba occupied for 18 years has been transformed into a Texas-themed burger joint and bar.
Restaurant industry veterans John Kinzer and Scott Smith recently opened Republic Texas Tavern at 12300 Inwood Road, CultureMap reports. Besides gourmet burgers, the menu features southern comfort food with a Texas twist, such as chicken fried steak with jalapeño cream gravy and crispy potato fries. More than 50 brands of bourbon and whiskey are offered at the bar.
Kinder told CultureMap that the restaurant serves Texas products as often as possible.
