An uptick in burglaries in Windsor Park and Preston Hollow East has made some neighbors uneasy.

At least twelve burglaries have been reported between April 9 and June 14 in subdivisions near Park Lane, Walnut Hill Lane and Hillcrest Avenue, according to the Dallas Police Department. Three of the crimes took place in the 7800 block of Riverfall Drive.

There are similarities among the burglaries, says Igor Jekauc, president of Windsor Park Homeowner Association’s Enhanced Neighborhood Protection program. In most cases, jewelry and small valuables were stolen from unoccupied houses early in the morning. An item, like a plant, also was left outside the house before the burglary occurred. If the object wasn’t moved throughout the day, the suspect assumed homeowners weren’t present.
