Spending the Fourth of July in the Hollow? Here’s how you can start your day

Bring your family, friends or dogs dressed in patriotic attire to the Hillcrest Forest Neighborhood Association’s annual Fourth of July parade. The festivities start at Kramer Elementary, 7131 Midbury Drive, at 10 a.m. Vintage car and drop-top jeep owners are encouraged to participate in the event. Get all the details here.

Face painting, train rides, pony rides and a petting zoo are featured at Melshire Estates Homeowner Association’s parade and picnic. The festive procession leaves from Quincy and Willow lanes, and winds through the neighborhood to Jamestown Park. Hot dogs, chips, sno-cones and soft drinks will be served.
