North Haven Gardens’ Plant Propagation Workshop on Saturday, July 15, teaches guests how to cultivate their own plants using leaves and seeds. Greenhouse specialist Roseann Ferguson leads the two-hour workshop, which starts at 9:30 a.m. The cost to attend is $25. Learn more here.

If you need some relief from the heat, head to Family Happy Hour on Sunday, July 16, at the Jewish Community Center. Celebrate the Devil Rays Swim Team and summer campers while sipping lemonade, swimming and listening to live music. The free event from 1-4 p.m. is open to the public. Get all the details here.

The Preston Royal Library is helping kids create kaleidoscopes on Sunday to teach them about optics, mirrors and refractions of light. The class — held from 2-2:45 p.m.  — is geared toward elementary school children. More information is available here.
