A few neighborhood canines recently received an unexpected surprise in their yards, and it’s one that worried their owners.

Meadows residents Paul Burkhalter and Cathi Holtsclaw told WFAA that they discovered raw meatballs stuffed with glass in their lawns. Burkhalter stumbled upon the meat cleaning his fenced-in yard, and Holtsclaw told the news outlet she’s found them on two separate occasions.

Both reached out to the Dallas Police Department, who instructed them to call 911 if it happens again.

“It’s been very unsettling,” Burkhalter told WFAA. “We used to let the dogs run free, and now every morning, I have to go and check and make sure nothing new is out there.”
