Thousands of evacuees have made Dallas home since Hurricane Harvey struck the Gulf Coast.

It isn’t the first time that Dallas has welcomed hurricane evacuees. In 2005, just as many people fleeing Hurricane Katrina settled in the city. They lost their homes and any semblance of stability.
