Saturday is “It’s My Park Day” at the intersection of St. Michaels Drive and the Northaven Trail. From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., the Friends of Northhaven Trail present face painting, Hamburger Man, the Bug Ladies, the Perot Tech Truck and more for a neighborhood celebration.

Uncle Calvin’s Coffeehouse will host Ronny Cox, an eclectic singer-songwriter, musician and actor who has been in the music world and Hollywood for over 40 years. The show is at 8 p.m., and tickets are $18-$22.

Author Steve Yarborough and The Dallas Morning News Culture critic Chris Vognar will discuss Yarborough’s book, “Larry McMurtry’s The Last Picture Show” at Interabang Books. McMurtry’s novel is set in a dusty West Texas town and inspired a popular movie by the same name. The conversation is Friday night at 7 p.m.

Friday at 10:30 a.m., bring the kids and some yoga mats to NorthCourt in NorthPark Center for a literary adventure through yoga breathing and stretching, presented by Bookmarks.

The Preston Royal Barnes and Noble will host “Good Day, Good Night” story time at 11 a.m. Saturday. This previously unpublished book by Margaret Wise Brown, author of “Goodnight Moon,” comforts and delights young readers.

Northaven Gardens presents an introduction to herb gardening in North Texas this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The class costs $35.

ArtROCKS! comes to NorthPark Center’s CenterPark Garden on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Children will enjoy hands-on projects and discover the work of Roy Lichtenstein, whose comic book-inspired art gave definition to the pop art movement of the 1960s. There also will be instant family photos in the pumpkin patch and live music from DJ Jose G.
