Frank Welch may have died this past June, but a piece of his legacy remains in Preston Hollow.

Welch, a Dallas-based architect who helped pioneer the modern Texas style, dreamed up several buildings on The Lamplighter School‘s campus.

Besides designing its fine arts wing, Cook Gymnasium and Jonsson Media Center, Welch was known for creating simple, yet sophisticated homes throughout Dallas, including our neighborhood.

Lamplighter teamed up with Preservation Dallas to host a symposium and fall tour highlighting eight of Welch’s residential masterpieces. The event took place Saturday, Oct. 28, and featured panelists who knew Welch personally.
