Churchill Park is offering a night of nostalgia with a screening of the award-winning 1940s rom-com “The Philadelphia Story,” starring Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn. Viewers find themselves in the middle of a love rectangle as Tracy Lord attempts to navigate the attraction she holds for the three men in her life.  The showing is free and starts at roughly 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3.  Food also is available for purchase.

Barnes & Noble at Preston Royal Shopping Center is hosting a special reading of the children’s book “Bruce’s Big Move” on Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. The book tells the story of the bearish protagonist Bruce and features a myriad of mishaps.

North Haven Gardens and plant photographer Irwin Lightstone have partnered for a garden photography workshop on Saturday. The workshop, which is slated from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., features a morning shooting session and an afternoon editing session.  Tickets cost $85 and can be found here.

Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and singer-songwriter David LaMotte are leading the provocative weekend workshop, Race Still Matters, Saturday from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m.  The class aims to address racial tensions and the concept of white privilege.  Details and ticket information are available here.
