2018 has barely begun, but Preston Hollow already is mourning the loss of another eatery.

DISH is our neighborhood’s first restaurant casualty this year. Owner Tim McEneny cited “unresolvable concerns with our building and location” as the reason for its sudden closure.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the many guests that have dined at DISH Preston Hollow over the years, and we look forward to seeing friends of the restaurant at our other concepts,” McEneny said in a press release.

The establishment opened in 2015 at Hillcrest and Northwest Highway in a storefront that Soleo Mexican Kitchen once occupied. Then, McEneny hoped to concoct a menu that would make DISH a neighborhood staple.

“The goal is to have this in your head as the first choice, the first place you think about,” he told the Advocate that year.

It also was one of a select few in the area that made Wine Spectator’s “Where to Drink Well” list.

McEneny’s hospitality company, NL Group, is shifting their efforts to Jalisco Norte and Dakota’s Steakhouse.
