A 34-year-old man was killed during a crash this weekend at Walnut Hill Lane and North Central Expressway.

A 25-year-old woman was traveling southbound on North Central Expressway at about 4:30 a.m. when her car ran out of gas. She left the vehicle in the middle lane, according to the Dallas Police Department, and waited on the shoulder for her friends’ help.

A 34-year-old man driving a motorcycle then struck the car, police say. Both he and his passenger were ejected from the bike.

The 34-year-old died at the scene. The passenger was taken to Presbyterian Hospital and placed in a medically induced coma.

Detectives will submit a grand jury referral for criminally negligent homicide, police say.
