Rain has caused organizers to postpone the volunteer tree planting event on the Northaven Trail from Saturday, Feb. 24, to Saturday, March 10 at 9 a.m.

Jeff Kitner, president of the Friends of the Northaven Trail, says it’s a fun event that should add new shaded areas near the trail’s western expansion. Volunteers should meet at Royal Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 10. The Dallas Parks and Recreation Department will provide the trees and other supplies. Those planning to attend should email Sloan Anderson at Sloan.Anderson@dallascityhall.com so the department has an idea of the number of attendees.
