Who knew back when Preston Hollow native Owen Wilson attended St. Marks that saying “wow” in films in that really cute way of his would result in flash mobs of people gathering to imitate him?

“Say Wow Like Owen Wilson” events are taking off. Let’s mull. Do you most prefer him saying “wow” in “Meet the Parents,” “Wedding Crashers” or “Marley & Me”?

No doubt his mother, renowned photographer and Preston Hollow resident Laura Wilson, treasures his words the most. “They were so much fun to photograph,” Wilson said about her children in a past interview with the Advocate. “In a sense, it was a way to capture their childhood, a childhood so fleeting.”

As for me, I’m waiting for brother Luke’s “Wow” flash mob. The veteran actor loves coming home to the Preston Hollow hood. “I drive by St. Mark’s, I drive by the house we grew up in. I go by all these different places, my dad’s old office and stuff like that,” he told Michael Granberry at The Dallas Morning News. “It was just a great place to grow up.”
