NorthPark’s Mother’s Day Weekend programming includes The Dallas Opera and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. On Saturday at 3 p.m. in SouthCourt, NorthPark Center and The Dallas Opera present soprano Rainelle Krause (pictured above) and harpist Grace Browning. On Sunday at 1 p.m.in NorthCourt, you can hear selections from your favorites films performed by a string quartet and brass quintet with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

The Dallas Bach Society presents Henry Purcell’s The Fairy Queen at Northaven United Methodist Church, 11211 Preston, Saturday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m.  You can buy tickets here.

Watch a movie outside:

Friends of the Northaven Trail presents movie night on the trail  Saturday, May 12, is movie night on the Northaven Trail. Be there at dusk for a showing of Ferdinand next to 10931 Edgemere Road. Watch for updates here.  Ferdinand,  a young bull who escapes from a training camp in rural Spain after his father never returns from a showdown with a matador, is adopted by a girl who lives on a farm. Laugh life away:

The Backdoor Comedy Club, at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 8250 N. Central Expressway, presents a Mother’s Day comedy show. The minimum age is 18. You can get tickets here.
