Mulberrys Garment Care will soon be competing with Martinizing Dry Cleaners to help take care of errands for people who don’t want to leave their couch. Both companies offer pick-up and delivery services, but Mulberrys’ focus on sustainability may give it a leg up.

The eco-friendly dry cleaner is bringing its toxin-free services to Preston Hollow, which includes a 24-hr drop box and an app that tracks the progress of garments. The company boasts environmentally-friendly detergent, wood hangers and biodegradable and recycled packaging.

Mulberrys chose Dallas for its latest expansion after receiving high ratings in San Fransisco and Minneapolis. Over the next 18 months, Mulberrys will open four locations around Dallas servicing several neighborhoods including Preston Hollow.

The StarTribune in Minnesota called Mulberrys the “Uber of Dry Cleaning,” a name which many startups are vying for. The idea of an Uber-like service for dry cleaning is something a few companies have tried, although some have already been shuttered.

In Dallas, Mulberrys is the underdog with less than 20 locations nationally, compared to Martinizing’s 400, but maybe our neighbors will take a chance on the sustainable newcomer.
