Jordan Spieth to open Flag Pole Hill playground with ribbon-cutting

After years of planning and fundraising, a national celebrity will be on hand to cut the ribbon for the Signature Play Ground for People of All Ages and Abilities at Flag Pole Hill – Jordan Spieth. The pro golfer, Preston Hollow neighbor and Dallas Jesuit grad is devoted to Ellie, his younger sister with special needs, and the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation is the largest contributor to the project.

Spieth, 25, won three of the four major championships before his 24th birthday. It’s a record he shares with one of his heroes, Jack Nicklaus. He won his first PGA Tour event at 19 and was the second youngest player (behind Tiger Woods) to win the Masters. He won the 2015 U.S. Open, the 2015 FedEx Cup and the 2017 Open Championship, among many other achievements in the game.

Also on hand at the ceremony will be representatives from other groups that facilitated the project: the City of Dallas, the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands, the Lake Highlands Junior Women’s League, Lake Highlands Women’s League and For the Love of the Lake.

The playground will be dedicated Thursday, Sept. 13 at 9 a.m.
