The Dallas Municipal Court launched a new program that enables Dallasites to pay tickets over the phone, online or at retail locations. To pony up, neighbors can dial 214-670-0109, choose the “pay by phone” option and speak with a real human being 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Tickets also can be paid in cash at 135 7-Eleven or Ace Cash Express locations all over Dallas. The city hopes to expand the program to 774 locations around DFW. Residents also can pay online at courts.dallascityhall.com by clicking the “payment options” button.

For neighborhood watchdogs, Dallas’ 311 app allowed residents to request new trash cans, report an errant rental bike or a pothole in the neighborhood, but it wasn’t the most user-friendly experience. Dallas is launching a new app called OurDallas, which should be easier to navigate.

“The new OurDallas app will be the one stop shop for all City services and will be enhanced by artificial intelligence to recognize images and learn what residents need most as they interact with the app,” according to the city’s website.

The old app goes down on Sept. 26. The new one should be live by Oct. 1. In the gap, neighbors can call 311 like the old days.
