Families in need soon can receive vital medications for free, thanks to a St. Vincent de Paul pharmacy opening in Vickery Meadow.

Surrounded by Preston Hollow, Lake Highlands and East Dallas, Vickery Meadow is included in City Council District 13. Many of its residents are refugees and immigrants. Most residents also are uninsured.

St. Vincent de Paul is managing the pharmacy, located at Northwest Bible Community Center.  It provides local families with medications they couldn’t otherwise afford and is accessible to Vickery Meadow residents without vehicles.

The organization receives donated medication from pharmaceutical companies and the nonprofit Dispensary of Hope. To qualify for free medication, residents must:

  • Be without health insurance
  • Have a household income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level
  • Have a valid prescription
