Neighbors Richard Brown and City Council member Jennifer Staubach Gates continue to work with Oncor to find a solution to avoid cutting down trees on the east side of the Dallas North Tollway and north of Forest Lane.
Brown hired Steve Houser, a consulting arborist of Arborilogical Services, to survey the types of trees and the conditions of the trees and shrubs. You can read his detailed report here. The Melshire Homeowners Association has kept our neighborhood up to date.
As you may remember Oncor, which owns the property along the easements where its towers are located, has said the trees below the power lines need to be removed so the towers can be updated. Neighbors are concerned about losing the trees since they serve as a sound barrier against the traffic and they are a point of beauty for the neighborhood.
