Preston Hollow gets quite a few shout-outs in Culture Map’s “Top 10 real estate stories of 2018” post by Stephanie Allmon Merry:
- Preston Hollow is included in the site’s list of “5 best neighborhoods to buy a forever home.” “This neighborhood seems to be ideal for those who have chosen the private school route, as it mirrors the aesthetic of the Park Cities but not its price tag for the same-sized lots and houses,” wrote Culture Map’s Diana Oates in May. She pointed out the neighborhood’s “tasteful mix of modern and traditional houses.”
- Dallas Stars goalie hopes to score an offer on his $4.25 million Preston Hollow home, Candy Evans reported in June. Finnish-born hockey goaltender Kari Lehtonen and his wife, Abbey, decided to sell their house at 6331 DeLoache Ave.
- Bids start at $350K for this rare foreclosed mansion in Preston Hollow, reported by Teresa Gubbins of Culture Map in September. The home at 9410 Alva Court was appraised at nearly $5.5 million, she wrote, adding that the opening bid was $350,000.
- Former Cowboys head coach puts his Dallas mansion in play for $2.95 million, reported by Culture Map’s John Egan in January. Wade Phillips’ 8,742-square-foot mansion at 6115 Norway Rd. went on the market for $2.95 million.
In addition, we’d add this Preston Hollow Advocate story, which was one of the top three stories of 2018 for its site.
- Find out what’s next for the Crespi Estate, Dallas’s most ostentatious mansion, reported in March. The 28,000-square-foot limestone mansion on Walnut Hill near the Tollway was designed in 1938. Mehrdad Moayedi, the CEO of Centurion American, bought the 25-acre property for $36.2 million in a December 2017 auction and planned to divide the property into a new seven-home neighborhood called The Crespi Estates. As of December 2018, three of the houses in the new division were almost finished, according to Brad Oellermann, who oversees the project’s construction.
