JORDAN SPIETH

What he’s up to now:

Jordan Spieth is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour and former No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking. He is a three-time major winner and the 2015 FedEx Cup champion. In April 2016, Time magazine named Spieth to its list of the “100 Most Influential People,” noting that he “exemplifies everything that’s great about sports.”

Spieth was born in 1993 in Dallas to Shawn and Mary Christine Spieth. He attended St. Monica Catholic School and graduated from Jesuit College Preparatory School in 2011.  He learned to play golf at Brookhaven Country Club.

Three things to know

He is close to sister Ellie, who has autism. “She’s the most special part of our family,” he told The Dallas Morning News. “She’s the funniest part of our family.”

Spieth bought a $2.3-million Preston Hollow home in 2015. Next, he purchased a $7.1-million home with a 12-car garage and adjoining basketball court, which features a mural of the clubhouse at Augusta National, according to SportsDay.

Spieth married long-time girlfriend, Annie Verret, on Nov. 24, 2018, in Dallas. Golfweek magazine collected Instagram pics. “He says what he believes,” a former Jesuit teacher told The Catholic News Service. “He believes in supporting others, taking care of others before he takes care of himself.”
