Spring Dance

What: SMU’s spring dance concert will feature three world premieres by internationally acclaimed choreographers. Former Paul Taylor dancer Takehiro Ueyama will create a new work set to John “The Chairman Dances.” Alex Sanchez will create a new group work to George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” Dwight Rhoden close the program with a new work “The Planets.”

When: Thursday, March 21, 8 p.m.; March 22, 8:00 p.m.; March 23, 8:00 p.m.; and March 24, 2:00 p.m.

Hockady teacher’s bloody memoir

What: “Z.O.S.” (Zone of Silence) is a memoir about sex, blood money and the CIA in Southeast Asia. Author Kay Merkel Boruff, who taught at The Hockaday School from 1973-2010, studies with Naomi Shihab Nye, Li-Young Lee, Tim O’Brien, Madeleine L’Engle and Robert Olen Butler.
