The Jesuit Dallas Museum will open a new exhibit tonight featuring work by Italian artist Alex Corno.

Corno’s “Sempre nel Texas, Always in Texas,” will showcase his various sculptures and works on paper. He creates abstract forms using welded iron and stainless steel.

Corno attended the Academy of Brera in Milan and obtained his diploma in sculpture in 1982. He taught in Milan public schools for several years before turning his focus solely on his art work. His work has been displayed in numerous shows in Italy and abroad.

The opening reception will be at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jesuit Dallas Museum at 12345 Inwood Road. Corno will speak to attendees at 6 p.m. There will be complimentary food and drinks at the reception.
