The Museum of Biblical Art in Preston Hollow will display a unique exhibit this spring that consists of figural work that is both modern and classical. 

“Beauty in Passion: The Narrative Paintings of Igor Samsonov” will open at the museum April 7 and run through June 9. The exhibit consists of 35 paintings by Russian artist Igor Samsonov, 56, who studied at the Repin Academy in St. Petersburg, considered the best art school in Russia.

The 35 paintings are created with vivid color and precise technique.  All tell a story about the presence or lack of harmony and justice in the world.

A reception to mark the opening of the exhibit will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. April 7.

The Museum of Biblical Art is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
