Barbara P. Bush to speak at Hearts of Texas luncheon

Hockaday alumna Barbara Pierce Bush is set to give a keynote speech at VolunteerNow’s 13th Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon on April 24.

Bush, the daughter of former president George W. Bush and Laura Bush, is the co-founder of Global Health Corps. She will speak at the event to honor community leader Lydia Novakov, who will be receiving the VolunteerNow Lifetime Achievement Award.

VolunteerNow serves as the hub of volunteerism in North Texas, having mobilized 256,000 volunteers in 2018, according to the organization. The organization runs the website www.voly.org which connects volunteers with service opportunities.
