Neighbor Lauren Zlotky helped organize the nonprofit Heroes for Children’s most successful gathering to date.

Zlotky, the nonprofit’s intake chair, and event chair Stacey Butler collected roughly 260 high-end totes, wallets and clutches for a silent auction at this year’s Heroes and Handbags event, Dallas Culture Map reported. The silent auction alone raised $67,000.

Along with the silent auction funds, the brunch raised a record-breaking $220,867, Dallas Culture Map reported.

Heroes for Children is a nonprofit that provides financial and social support to families with children battling cancer. Founded by two moms, Larissa Linton and Jenny Scott Dowen, whose daughters passed away from Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Heroes for Children has provided $5.5 million to nearly 6,000 families since 2004.

Zlotky’s son, Reid, who is now a graduating senior, has volunteered for the organization since he was little.
