The nonprofit Orphan Outreach raised more than $400,000 this year through its 6th annual Children’s Hope Dinner.
The funds will go toward programs serving thousands of orphaned and vulnerable children in the United State, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Kenya, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine. The nonprofit Christian ministry provides education, early intervention and evangelism to the children it works with.
“We are incredibly grateful to all who came out for this special evening supporting our important work to provide children with the physical, educational, spiritual and emotional care they so desperately need,” said Mike Douris, president of Orphan Outreach. “We invite anyone who missed the dinner to contribute by becoming a James 127 Advocate, helping us send hope where it is needed more. With this, you tell the world, ‘I stand for orphans.’ You tell a child, ‘I stand for you.’”
Dallas Cowboys tight end and ESPN color commentator Jason Witten gave a keynote speech at the April 9 event. Allie Beth and Pierce Allman received the 2019 Children’s Hope Award for their work in philanthropy.
Orphan Outreach has an auxiliary program called Women for Orphans Worldwide (WOW), which was started by 13 Preston Hollow moms.
