Author Anna Quindlen discusses “Nanaville”

What: Novelist and journalist Anna Quindlen will speak about her new work of nonfiction “Nanaville: Adventures in Grandparenting.” Note: The event was originally to take place at Highland Park United Methodist Church. The new venue will be Interabang Books.

When: Friday, April 26, 7:30 p.m.

Presbyterian Women Mission Luncheon

What: Proceeds benefit the Women and Children’s Health Center at Healing Hands Ministries. The lunch speaker is Tiffany Divis, who was the Senior Gifts Officer for former First Lady Laura Bush managing the gift exchanges between world leaders on behalf of the president, vice president, secretary of state and their spouses.

When: Saturday, April 27, noon

Where:  Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road

Pups in the Park

What: Bring your dog on a guided walk through spring wildflowers native to Texas. SPCA of Texas will accept donations. Treats will be provided by Lucky Dog Barkery.

Louisiana Cajun Bash and Boil

What: The Dallas Chapter of the LSU Alumni Association hosts its 39th annual Louisiana Cajun Bash & Boil. The event raises scholarship money for LSU students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Expect crawfish boiled with corn and potatoes, crawfish étouffée, red beans and rice, and crawfish pistolettes. Big Daddie the DJ will perform.
