Preston Hollow resident Dirk Nowitzki celebrates his 41st birthday today. This German-turned-Texan is truly Texas treasure. Even after 21 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, no one has figured out how to guard his fadeaway. Dirk is a proud Texan, boasting that even after his career as a Dallas Maverick ended, he will still stay in Dallas, much to the delight of all of us here.
It’s been quite a year for the German superstar. After retiring from the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk went on to receive a key to the city from former Mayor Mike Rawlings, a well-deserved tribute to the athlete. In August, the city plan commission will vote on whether to change a part of Olive Street to “Nowitzki Way,” a move which many Texans seem to support. (For full story, click here)
