A new Tex-Mex restaurant is coming to town.

James Beard Semifinalist chef Omar Flores is set to open Muchacho at the Plaza at Preston Center in early September. Muchacho will take over the space previously occupied by Taco Diner, Preston Hollow People reported.

“Muchacho is a restaurant I’ve been thinking about for a really long time,” Flores told Escape Hatch Dallas.

The restaurant will seat 70 and have a 30-seat patio space.

It will serve Tex-Mex classics influenced by Flores’ upbringing in El Paso. So you can expect anything from queso to unique fajita dishes to be on the menu. The restaurant will also have a smoker and wood-burning grill to add Texas flair to its dishes.

“There will be lots of meaty goodness on this menu,” Flores told Escape Hatch.

Flores is also the mind behind fried chicken and biscuits at Whistle Britches.
