The annual Sparkman Fourth of July Parade. This parade is a Sparkman Clubhouse tradition with fun for the whole family. The parade is notorious for the jaw-dropping and creative floats. Members of the community go all out for the celebration, with larger-than-life floats complete with themes and color coordination. After the parade, the pool is open. Events include an apple pie competition, a splash contest and a greased-up watermelon. The night ends with music and a DJ.

Hillcrest Forest Fourth of July Celebration. Hosted by the Hillcrest Forest Homeowners Association, this event promises balloon artists, face painters, convertibles and vintage cars. There will also be plenty of kids on decorated bikes. The main event is the best dressed dog competition.

Melshire Fourth of July. This parade and festival is an annual Melshire tradition hosted by the Homeowners Association. The event includes a kids parade with pets and bikes ending at Jamestown Park where there will be food and sno-cones, as well as face painting, a bounce house and a petting zoo.

Where: The parade will line up on Quincy and Willow. 

When: 10:30 a.m.
