It has been three weeks since the opening of sections 2b and 2c of the Northaven Trail. On Saturday, June 29, the City of Dallas hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which featured remarks from Dallas County Commissioners and and Councilmembers. Friends of the trail were eager to take part in the much-anticipated opening, and were quick to bring kids and pooches for a trot around the trail. If you missed the ceremony, but would like an opportunity to take part in the celebration, there are two fundraising events going on to benefit the trail.

Shake Shack at Preston Royal are hosting a donation day for Northaven Trail on July 17th. All day, 25% of sales will be donated in support of the trail. So indulge and bring a friend, and make sure to tell the cashier you are there to support the cause. Click here to learn more.

The second fundraising event will be at Slater’s 50/50 on August 10th at 5:00pm. There will an informative happy hour where you can indulge in good food and drinks, learn more about the Trail and enter a raffle to win some great prizes.

Just a reminder, phase 2A, the section from Cinderella Lane to Preston Road is still a construction zone. The section is set to be opened sometime this fall, but for now, the area is still under construction.
