New Friends New Life (NFNL) has announced leadership for the 2019 Annual Luncheon. The 2019 luncheon will take place Oct. 11, and feature actress Jada Pinkett Smith as the keynote speaker.

NFNL is a Dallas-based nonprofit that helps women and children overcome backgrounds of abuse, addiction, poverty and limited opportunities. By providing access to education, job training, interim financial assistance, mental health and spiritual support, the organization empowers formerly trafficked teen girls and sexually exploited women and their children. The organization, which started in 1998, offers help to more than 1,200 formerly trafficked teens, women and their children each year. Sex trafficking, according to the organization, is particularly bad in Texas, with the state ranking second in the country for the most human trafficking, In Dallas alone, there are an estimated 400 trafficked teens on the streets each night.

Preston Hollow neighbors Amy and Joe Crafton will serve as honorary co-chairs for the event. Amy Crafton is a longtime supporter of NFNL. She and her husband, Joe Crafton, are committed to creating a society that is safe for women and girls.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. on October 11 at the OMNI Dallas Hotel. The keynote speaker, Jada Pinkett Smith, is an actress, producer, director, humanitarian and activist. She is passionate about fighting human trafficking, advocating for survivors and creating awareness in communities.
