KXAS-TV (NBC5)  anchor Meredith Land will no longer anchor the 10 p.m. news slot so she can spend more time with her family, according to Cheryl Hall at Dallas Morning News. Land will continue to co-anchor the news at 5 and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. She also said she will focus more on the digital news space.

You could tell that Land is passionate about her family when we profiled her in August. Land has lived in her Greenway Parks home with her husband, Xan, and two children, McCall and Alexander, for five years. You know coming home after the late shift was a tough balancing act. She has a comfy, dorm-sized bed in the walk-in closet of her home’s master bedroom so she could decompress without waking up her family after the 10 p.m. news shift.

“Reporting and sharing the news is something I’m very passionate about. I’m also passionate about family, and at this point in my life, I look forward to spending evenings in real time with my young children — not just via FaceTime,” Land said in a statement.
