Jesuit (9-4) advances to the region-final round for the first time since joining the UIL in 2004 after beating Klein Collins 28-21 in a Class 6A Division II semifinal game in Waco Nov. 29, according to a Dallas Morning News story entitled “They just keep making history.”

Running back E.J. Smith scored all four Jesuit touchdowns, the last with 58 seconds remaining. He has scored 11 touchdowns in the postseason. Sophomore defensive back Robert Fitzgerald made an interception in the end zone with eight seconds remaining.

We’ve always been taught to battle adversity,” Smith told the Dallas Morning News.

Next up: the team faces the winner of the Nov. 30 semifinal game between Hewitt Midway and Spring Westfield.
