Robert Miller, a long-time columnist and editor at the Dallas Morning News and a Preston Hollow resident, died Nov. 30 at the age of 96. He worked for 64 years at the paper, according to the Dallas Morning News.

“Bob Miller created two genuinely successful careers at the Dallas Morning News, the first as a distinguished senior editor and the second as one of the city’s most influential columnists,” said Robert W. Mong Jr., former editor of the Dallas Morning News.

The Millers’ home was damaged by the tornado that hit Dallas on Oct. 20, according to the Dallas Morning News report. His wife, Shirley, said his health declined rapidly after that, and he passed away at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El.
