Alex Enriquez, a third-generation Dallas ISD graduate and lifelong public servant, announced Tuesday he will run for the District 2 trustee position on the school board.
“I believe in our schools because I believe in my neighbors,” Enriquez said. “You can trust that I will use my experiential understanding of how our schools work—how they are really doing—to ensure the best outcomes for our students and communities.”
In his announcement, he advocated for collective leadership and praised the successes that parents, community leaders, administrators and teachers have brought to the district in recent years.

Prior to running for the school board, Enriquez served as the founding executive director and vice president of City Year Dallas, an organization whose members serve in schools preparing students with the social, emotional and academic skills to succeed. He was also the Lipscomb Elementary site-based decision-making chair from 2017-2020.
His campaign has the support of former state Rep. Harryette Ehrhardt and several chairs of parent groups, such as the Pre-Geneva Association and the Lipscomb PTA.
Enriquez and his wife, Betsy, have two young children.
