Betty Payne, who owns The Do Cut and Color on Berkshire Lane, has come up with a revolutionary idea to serve customers who are living with emerging roots during this time when we’re sheltering in place and missing our Saturday morning touch-ups.
Her thoughts: We hate not being able to keep your hair beautiful for you. We know this difficult time will end, but we worry that right now you’re contemplating using some drugstore box color and headed for an epic color disaster and major correction later on. We worry that you might be enticed by some friend of a friend know-nothing hairdresser coming to you that has zero knowledge or concern for your health or hair color.
How she’s changed her business strategy: We created a custom formulated hair color root touch-up kit that customers can use at home. It’s your color. Just order and pick it up here at The Do. We will custom-blend your personal Wella color formula in a mixing container. Add the pre-measured professional developer included in the kit, mix thoroughly with the mini professional whisk also included in the kit and apply to your roots. There’s even a pair of gloves to wear to protect your hands and some professional barrier cream to prevent color stains around your hairline. Detailed instructions are in every kit.
Her hopes: We hope this temporary home option takes away some unhappiness you may feel about your hair not being done in the salon.
