José restaurant staff makes taco sack lunches for workers at Parkland and UT–Southwestern hospitals, according to Texas Monthly. Owners Brady and Dr. Megan Wood proposed the idea and landlords Mark and Juliette Moussa are funding the effort. Chef Anastacia Quiñones-Pittman supervises the preparation of 500 lunches, which includes two tacos each and salsa. On the menu: chicken and beef aside, carnitas and a vegan option. “We’re serving these people who are so busy and they’re just exhausted,” Quiñones-Pittman says. The sack lunches include notes: “We appreciate everything you are doing. Stay healthy. Stay strong. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.”
