POSTCARD FROM THE PANDEMIC: “We had to wear masks the entire time, which was very difficult during labor, especially when I was throwing up in the beginning.”
When we last heard from Ashley Feik-Campbell, a clinical pharmacist at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, she was due to give birth to her first child April 10 in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. She and her husband, Britt, who is a helicopter pilot, live with their two dogs and two cats. We profiled her March 31 in our Postcard from the Pandemic series. Here’s a followup to the story. She had a boy, named Hugh Paul Campbell, and all is well. “The delivery went well. It only took about six hours,” she says. “Obviously, we were not allowed any visitors but my husband was there so that was great. We had to wear masks the entire time, which was very difficult during labor, especially when I was throwing up in the beginning. We only stayed in the hospital for 24 hours and left the next day to go home. We did fine and and are enjoying him so much.” Her out-of-town parents plan to visit them Sunday on his 6-week birthday.
