Thomas Jefferson High School graduates, whose senior years were disrupted when the Oct. 20 tornado  destroyed their school and the coronavirus pandemic hit, will be celebrated Tuesday, May, 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. Dallas entrepreneurs Jeff Herrington and Randall White, who own “Proud of My Grad,” will present the seniors free customized yard signs, personalized with their names. The signs, which are valued at about $6,500, were donated due to help from Golden Chick, Cenveo, Associa and the Law Office of Domingo Garcia.

Students, including Edgar Garcia, will drive along the parade route, with last names A-D distributed at 5 p.m., E-H at 5:30 p.m., I-L at 6 p.m., M-P at 6:30 p.m., Q-T at 7 p.m. and U-Z at 7:30. Staff, alumni, volunteers and cheerleaders will cheer them on with pom poms, signs, and noisemakers. Dallas ISD Trustee Edwin Flores, and Trustee Ben Mackey, along with Herrington, White, donors and more will distribute the signs and caps and gowns. Everyone will wear masks and be socially distanced.
