Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) just released that the twenty-fifth Parade of Playhouses will run at NorthPark Center later this summer. This event raises awareness of the needs of children in the foster care system.
From July 10 to 26, custom-built children’s playhouses will display inside NorthPark.
Dallas CASA recruited local builders and designers who have donated playhouses to the event. A few of these houses include a “harvest house” that promotes sustainability, a mini hospital, and a playhouse with a built-in skybox.
A sneak peek of the event will take place on July 3 when builder LRO Residential unveils the first playhouse in NorthPark. The event will also enforce proper social distancing precautions and limited-contact rules for staff, volunteers, and guests.
For a chance to win a playhouse, guests can purchase raffle tickets online during the event. Dallas CASA chooses a winner on the last day of the 17-day parade.
For 40 years, Dallas CASA has helped Dallas County children who suffer from abuse and neglect in unsafe environments. Dallas CASA trains volunteers from the community who advocate for children who must evacuate unsafe homes. With help from professional staff, volunteers collect information and make recommendations to judges. These recommendations help the judges decide the safest and best outcome for permanent homes.
